Ambiance-This
resort impresses from the minute you walk in. The JW Marriott brand
focuses on providing an upscale resort for all ages and I saw honeymooners,
families and couples throughout the resort. Upscale but not pretentious.
This ranks as one of my favorites on Oahu.
Beach-There
are multiple coves making the water perfect for swimming and the
beaches were excellent.
Distances-
The resort is on the western side of Oahu about 20 minutes from
the airport and 35 minutes from Waikiki. You have shops and restaurants
all with 10-15 minutes of the resort.
Entertainment
on Property -When I was there they had a singer out by
the pool in the early evening.
Fitness
Area - They have a very nice state of the art fitness center
and Spa.
Food-
They have seven restaurants at the resort and walking distance to
Roys which is very popular.
Getting
Around- Most people will want to rent a car on Oahu to
take advantage of the many activities the island offers.
Internet
Access -There is daily charge for internet access from
your room.
Jackets
and Ties- Keep them at home! Aloha shirts are the norm.
Kids-I
was not expecting this to be family friendly but was wrong. A good
mix of families and couples.
Lighting-Well
lit at night.
Medical
Services-On call medical services.
Negatives-
I really can't say anything negative about this resort.
Nightlife-
Plenty of nightlife in Waikiki.
Opportunities-Take
advantage of the golf at the Ko Olina Golf Club right on the property.
Pool-They
have both swimming and lap pools plus an outdoor jacuzzi.
Protection-In
room safe.
Recreation-If
tennis or golf are your sports, this is the place. You also have
jogging trails.
Rooms-Wow,
that is all I can say. I had a deluxe Ocean view room and the view
was to die for. The rooms are state of the art as far as technology
so make sure to ask about the command center or you might have a
problem turning off the lights at night.
Shopping-Plenty
of shopping in Waikiki.
Spa-Beautiful
Spa facility.
Terrain-Very
self contained so you do not feel you have to walk a mile to get
around.
View-fantastic
and you can see some spectacular sunsets.
Weather-Rainy
season is December through February with the driest months being
June through September.
WOW
Factor-The rooms and level of service is stellar.
X-Y-Z-If
you want to be away from the crowds of Waikiki yet close to many
of the activities and like a 5 star resort, this is the place.
