When we say catch a wave in Waikiki, we mean do it in
an Outrigger! A visit to Waikiki Beach just isn't
complete unless you've tried wave-riding,
Hawaiian-style! Here's how it's done:
Book five nights or longer at any Outrigger or OHANA in
Waikiki.
At check-in you'll receive a Catch A Wave voucher and
you can choose from the activities below -- at no
charge!
Catch a Wave with any of these exciting activities!
Surf Lesson and Surfboard Rental:
Get a 15-minute surf
lesson on land and a two-hour surfboard rental for one
person, or one-hour surfboard rental for two persons,
provided by the Hans Hedemann Surf School. Hans
Hedemann, well-known professional surfer for 17 years,
offers an expert staff of trained surfing instructors
who are determined to get you riding the waves! Located
on the beach at Outrigger Reef hotel. Daily 8:30 am -
3:30 pm. Lessons at 9 am, 11 am, 1 pm, 3 pm. Advance
reservations recommended.
Outrigger Canoe Ride:
Paddle out with legendary Waikiki
Beach Boys and skim the waves in an outrigger canoe --
an exhilarating experience for two persons! Or choose a
15-minute surf lesson on land and a two-hour surfboard
rental for one person, or one-hour surfboard rental for
two persons. Provided by Waikiki Beach Services, on the
beach at Outrigger Waikiki. Daily 8:30 am - 3:30 pm.
Lessons at 7:30 am Monday and Friday. Advance
reservations recommended.
Outrigger Catamaran Ride:
The Outrigger Catamaran, a
sleek, new, 45-foot vessel is Waikiki's fastest and
smoothest sailing catamaran, giving you an exciting
90-minutes to view Oahu's southern coast, Spinner and
Bottlenose dolphins off Diamond Head, and humpback
whales during winter months. Fully equipped with full
service bar, deluxe comfort cushion seating, restroom,
all new USCG safety equipment, sun tanning trampoline
net, and surround-sound stereo system. Located at
Outrigger Reef hotel. Launches at 11 am, 1 pm, 3 pm.
Valid for one person. Advance reservations recommended.
