You have many fine dining options on the island of Oahu. Many of the restaurants we suggest are places we have eaten at ourselves. | |
Brunch on the Beach |
|
|
Come and experience the historical Kalakaua Avenue as it is transformed into an outdoor café! Every month on the third Sunday thousands of local residents and visitors gather at this popular event to enjoy great food and free entertainment. Hundreds of tables, chairs and bright blue umbrellas are set up for chefs from the best Waikiki hotels and restaurants to gather and prepare local delicacies. Residents and visitors may choose to either dine on the tables or to take their brunch on the beach to enjoy. |

Ono Hawaiian Foods | |
| Since you're in Hawaii, why not try the foods of Hawaii? And the best place for this is at Ono Hawaiian Foods on Kapahulu Ave.The word "ono" means delicious in Hawaiian. And that's just the perfect way to describe the foods served at Ono's. This restaurant is often busy, with line of people waiting outside the restaurant. As you enter Ono's, you will feel like you're entering older era, in a small city diner. Its rustic and simple dining room will make you feel welcome and comfortable. I would highly recommend one of the special plates to fully experience Hawaiian foods but remember to bring cash as Ono's does not take credit cards!!! |
Shrimp Truck | |
| Just east of the Turtle Bay Resort are the shrimp farms of Kahuku, and located along the Kam Highway are "shrimp shacks" that serve probably the freshest white shrimp you'll ever have. The king of them all is Giovanni's Shrimp Truck, which offers three different meals: shrimp scampi, hot & spicy (no refunds) and boiled shrimp. You get a half pound of shrimp in the shell with liberal amounts of garlic, two scoops of rice, a delectable hot sauce on the side, and a fistful of napkins for $11. |
